Learn to Sew! Students will learn about the fundamentals of sewing, fabric variations, basic stitches and understanding patterns. To begin, students will learn how to use a sewing machine and to make an apron by following a pattern.
Next, the focus moves onto apparel where students will make a skirt that incorporates darts, zippers, facing, hems and fittings. From there, we move onto pajamas, dresses, men's shirts and much more! Not interseted in apparel? We also focus on home decor projects including pillows, curtains, pet accessories and more. If you have your own project in mind, we'll be happy to work with you to complete your project.

Privates - $50/hour **Save money - purchase a package of 4 lessons for $160 ($40/hour)
Semi-privates - 2 people - $80/hour ($40 each) ***Save money - purchase a package of 4 lessons for $120/person ($30/hour/person)
Small group - 3-4 people- $90/hour ($30 each) ****Save money - purchase a package of 4 lessons for $100/person ($25/hour/person)

Cancellation Policy: There is a 24-hour cancellation policy. You will be charged for the class if you do not reschedule within 24 hours.
What do I need to bring? For beginners - nothing is needed for the first class. A syllabus will be provided before each project. If you are an advanced student, we will email you the patterns and supplies needed. You may also bring your own patterns and projects.

Perks
As a full-time Fashion Merchandising Professor at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, I incorporate fashion trends, textiles, locations to purchase fabric and more into the lessons. Students are given opportunities to volunteer or attend local fashion shows. All students are invited to attend fashion trips to London & Paris and Barcelona to Bavaria in 2012.
